Non-Food Regulatory Advisor

We are looking for a Non-Food Regulatory Advisor to support the Non-Food Technical Manager 

Non-Food Regulatory Advisor – £30 – £35k, dependent on experience +benefits

To support the Non-Food Technical Manager with clients’ regulatory requirements ranging from initial product risk assessments through to specifications, pack copy and packaging artwork approval.

 

To provide additional services within their skillset which clients may require e.g.  advice regarding product testing requirements and the creation of product safety data sheets for chemical based products.

 

As the role is not category specific the job holder should have broad product knowledge with a flexible, adaptable approach.
 

EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in a Science-related subject and at least 4 years’ experience in a relevant field of work. A degree or background in Chemistry is preferable;
  • Applicable industry experience in development of non-food retail products from either a Manufacturing, Full Service Vendor, Retail or Trading Standards perspective;
  • Experience of planning, developing, monitoring and verifying Quality System programmes and processes

KNOWLEDGE

  • A broad skill base in Non-Food Home-Based products* having experience with regulation and testing requirements and a strong understanding of where to obtain information such as regulatory bodies, testing standards and third party endorsements e.g. BTHA, AISE, FSC;
  • Involvement with product development from initial design through to final product artwork approval or at least the key stages in the product development cycle;
  • Experience in Chemical Product Development (SDS documentation, Product Information Packs), stability testing requirements and interpretation of raw data for the use in Product Labelling are desirable. * e.g. household detergents, consumables, cosmetics, pet-foods etc.

 

ABILITIES

  • IT Skills – Adept at Microsoft Office and formal report writing.
  • Communicate and influence cross-functional teams collaborating with third party QA systems, providing regulatory support and advice associated with the clients’ product launch processes;
  • Assuring regulatory compliance, accuracy and consistency of application from initial Product Specification through to Product Artwork;
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex projects and responsibilities in a fast-changing environment;
  • Communicate effectively and influence internal team members and external clients;
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate outcomes;
  • Ability to organise collection of data, analyse information and capture conclusions;
  • Able to review, ensuring understanding and utilisation of appropriate regulations and guidelines to ensure product compliance for applicable markets.
